Most commonly piezoelectric scalers are used to clean your teeth. At DentaWellness dental clinic we use led illuminated piezoelectric scalers to thoroughly clean your teeth and remove all the tatar and stains causing periodontal disease. It is absolutely essential for every individual to get their teeth cleaned once every 6 months as a preventive treatment against periodontal disease.
X-Rays – Intraoral periapical radiography IOPA is X-Ray involving the periapical areas of teeth. These X-Rays give a high level of details allowing dentists to:
- Access cavities and depth of the decay
- Check the health of the bony area around the tooth
- In kids, check the developing teeth
- Check the status of old restorations for secondary decay etc.
Thus taking regular radiographs helps access the general health of the teeth and prevent any anticipated tooth decay.

Fluoride Treatment – Fluoride, a naturally-occurring mineral, helps prevent cavities in children and adults by making the outer surface of your tooth i.e. enamel more resistant to the acid attacks that cause tooth decay. After tooth eruption, fluoride helps remineralize weakened tooth enamel and reverses early signs of tooth decay. If you have a good chance of getting cavities, your dentist can apply fluoride directly to your teeth during your dental visit with a gel, foam or rinse. This is generally done by the dentist using APF gel on your teeth semi-annually. Thus, fluoride treatment is a preventive treatment that helps prevent cavities and keeps teeth healthy.
